and wildflowers in vacant lots, wayside structures in various stages of decay, and the factories that support our infrastructure are all subject matter for me. There is an aching beauty in the unconventional and gritty. I paint with layers of thin, drippy watercolor washes, inter- spersed with gestural spatters to achieve the final image. The paint- ings grow, shift, and metamorphose gradually. The works exude an aura of melancholy that is visceral.”
