Progress & Excitement
in This Year of Leadership
Craig A. Marvinney
It seems a minute ago our Federation membership came to a mountain in Colorado Springs celebrating the close of the Broadmoor
There is much good in this FDCC Year. Within a week of Broadmoor’s wrap-up, the FDCC’s Friday 5’s provided the membership with the link to download the Federation’s Leadership book, first published just as COVID’s Pandemic sealed its grasp on our society. Our Trial Masters have been hard at work this Summer and Fall to bring
our members the first ever on- line library of pointers on how best to take a case to and through trial. That programming is almost finished and will be brought to all of you in the coming months along with a related book supporting this work.
The 2023 Corporate Counsel Symposium, held in Philadelphia in October and chaired so well by
by Craig A. Marvinney
Phoenix’s Alison Christian and New York’s Bill Vita, was a rousing success. They developed one of the best CCS’s in years! Their program, “The Leadership in We – Leading Together in a Challenging and Turbulent World” was superb, and is the first formal program in this, the Federation’s Year of Leadership.
In early November our Federation faithful assembled for our Insurance Industry Institute (I-3)
in New York City, co-chaired so wonderfully by Phoenix’s Micalann Pepe and Atlanta’s Alycen Moss. The program “Insights, Innovation, & Inspiration: New Approaches for Insurance Leaders” struck exactly the right tone for our year and for the industry’s current climate. Their work on the I-3 yielded some of
meeting at the start of FDCC’s 2023-24 year. Yet now, Fall soon turns to Winter as the current year is well under way. For the first time, the Federation has an entire year, including programming in meetings, podcasts, webinars, and other work, devoted to one important theme, “Leadership”. After all, our logo speaks to “Defense Lawyers – Defense Leaders.” What a great topic to focus the FDCC’s pivot stronger than ever into our future.
