Looking Forward
Forum “Conveniens”
organized a mini–Corporate Counsel Symposium during one of the afternoons. The mini-CCS is a special program designed for our in-house members and will include presentations on cutting edge issues such as “Biden Administration Policy, Regulatory Changes
and How They Affect Corporate Clients” and “Crisis Management: Investigating a Cyber Security Breach.” Jeff has also brought together a group of industry leaders who will discuss “What Keeps Corporate Counsel up at Night.”
Running concurrently with the mini-CCS will be a program designed for our defense counsel members. We are excited that Frank Ramos and his team are bringing back the Masters in Marketing program. Frank and a lineup of nine other “master marketers” will provide practical tips on “Mastering LinkedIn,” “Building Your Online Brand” and “How In-Person and Online Marketing Complement Each Other and Can Translate into Business.” The panel of speakers will include a director of marketing and
business development from a large firm, who will share her perspective on how attorneys can maximize marketing in this “Brave New World.” Our master marketers will provide “The Top 10 List” of their number one marketing techniques.
And last, but certainly not least, we will have our traditional substantive law programming to provide education on timely issues in a wide array of practice areas, including the following:
• Transportation: “Neutralizing Nuclear Verdicts: Sharing Best Practices to Limit our Clients’ Exposure.”
• Products Liability: “Governing Information Efficiently to Manage Costs and Litigate Effectively.”
• Insurance Coverage and Property Insurance: “Arbitration and Appraisal: Getting Past Splitting the Baby.”
• Life, Health & Disability: “This is Not Your Parents’ Retirement:
Thinking About Your Retirement Strategy.”
• Extra Contractual Liability, Healthcare Practice, and Trial Tactics: “Don’t be Left High and Dry in the Desert: How
to Handle Thorny Issues of Indemnity Disputes Between Hospitals, Physicians and Insurance Carriers in Medical Negligence Litigation.”
• Civil Rights and Public
Entity Liability, Data Breach, Privacy and Cyber Insurance, International Practice, and Professional Liability: “Potential Liability for Ransomware Attacks and Other Data Breaches.”
• Law Practice Management:
“The Great Resignation: Is Your Firm Ready?”
• Drug, Device and Biotechnology and Toxic Tort and Environmental Law: “Two Years into a Pandemic – What Your Jurors May Be Thinking.”
• Commercial Litigation, Employment Practices and Workplace Liability, Premises and Security Liability: “Lightning Round: Emerging Litigation Issues to Take Your Practice to the Next Level.”
This is a snapshot of the program. As we said before, the best is yet to come. The program and registration brochure is available on the FDCC website for full details of the Winter Meeting.
