    WEDNESDAY EXCURSIONS
This is your last full day in St. Petersburg. Time to pack in as much fun as you can manage!
6:30 am – 7:30 am Fun Run
12:30 pm - 4:00 pm Cooking Class
A St. Petersburg chef will lead you through a cooking class with the best food Florida has to offer. The bad news is that you’ll have to make your own lunch, but the good news is that you’ll have some wine to make the meal prep go faster. $150 per person
12:30 pm - 4:00 pm The Inaugural FDCC Shuffleboard Tournament
Do you like highly physical, competitive activities? Sign up for the yacht racing adventure on page 13. Would you prefer to desultorily push a disc while imbibing a beverage and chatting with your friends? Keep reading.
Nothing says Florida more than shuffleboard, and the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is the world’s oldest and largest shuffleboard club. We will visit the club during its 100th anniversary and the day after it hosts the state shuffleboard championship. It will be like playing football in Lambeau Field, but much easier. We will provide the equipment, a quick lesson, lunch, and a bartender. You will provide the fun. $80 per person
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Kayak Tour of Mangroves
Join us on a relaxing kayak journey through the Weedon Island Preserve! The tour takes you into the pristine blue waters and seagrass meadows of the Weedon Island
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Museum of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts boasts a collection covering almost 5,000 years of civilization in thousands of objects extending from antiquity to present, plus an array of fascinating traveling exhibitions. Highlights include masterpieces from Monet, O’Keeffe, De Kooning, Wiley, and others, a sculpture garden, and one of Florida’s most respected photography collections. $16 per person
2:15 pm – 4:30 pm Dolphin Watching
Get your camera ready and experience the joy of dolphins leaping and rambunctiously playing just for you. The Dolphin Queen’s distinctive engines harmonize seamlessly with the marine environment, making it an honorary member of the dolphin pod. And as we cruise by the Coast Guard Base and historic St. Petersburg mansions, you’ll learn more about this beautiful city by the bay. $55 per per person
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm St. Petersburg Beach
In 2021, TripAdvisor named St. Petersburg Beach the #1 beach in the U.S. Hop on our bus and see for yourself.
If you’re feeling adventurous, try out jet skiing, give kayaking a shot, or take a stab at parasailing. If you just want to chill, rent a chair and let the balmy waters of the Gulf of Mexico wash away your cares. And if you decide to grab lunch at the nearby Don Cesar hotel, we promise not to tell the Vinoy. $25 per person
Preserve as you search for manatees and dolphins. After hanging out with your underwater friends, you’ll make your way to the winding mangrove tunnels. These mesmerizing tunnels stretch for miles and are some of the longest tunnels in Florida. While paddling through these tunnels, be on the lookout for mangrove crabs, mullet, and countless varieties of birds that nest inside the mangrove forests. Along the way, experienced tour guides will answer your questions and educate you about the history and wildlife of the Weedon Island Preserve. $115 per person
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Helicopter Tour (flights scheduled within this timeframe)
Hop on a whirlybird for a 30-minute tour of St. Petersburg’s skypasses. This tour offers amazing views of Fort De Soto, Egmont Key, Anna Maria Island, and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. If you ask nicely, the pilot might buzz the Vinoy. $252 per person
2024 FDCC Winter Meeting Walking in Sunshine FDCC 2024 WINTER MEETING ~ WALKING IN SUNSHINE
6:30 pm - 10:30 pm Casino Vinoyale
As the living daylights fade into evening, it will be time for us to get together and bond... James Bond. The FDCC will turn our hotel into Casino Vinoyale – a James Bond- themed casino event featuring craps, blackjack, music, and cleverly concealed gadgets. If you have no time to tie, don’t worry; you only have to dress for your eyes only – although we’ll never say never if you are inspired to don a tuxedo or a razor-edged hat for a picture next to our secret agent decor. And if the spectre of loss concerns you, take a quantum of solace from knowing that you can spend your hard-won chips on prizes.
Speaking of prizes, we will also be handing out trophies to the shuffleball tournament winners during Casino Vinoyale.
