as we convene for the 2022 Annual Meeting. Please plan to join us at
the FDCC Annual Meeting with its home base of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Seattle as we prove that “Together We’re Better.”
The official activities begin on Monday, July 25 and end Friday night, July 30. We encourage you to consider extending your trip and come out early or do as others are doing, and go on an Alaskan cruise following the meeting. Seattle is the perfect spot for day trips to
Mt. Rainier, the San Juan Islands, or any of the other countless natural wonders of the Seattle area. Surrounded by water and majestic mountains, there is no shortage of fabulous opportunities to explore this beautiful area by land, water, or air.
Seattle allows us to combine the sophistication of a top caliber
city, including Michelin rated restaurants and exquisite museums, with the beautiful outdoors. The downtown Hyatt Regency is just
a short walk away from the iconic Pike Place Market, the Puget Sound, the original Nordstrom, and the monorail, which will whisk you to the landmark Space Needle in a mere 4 minutes.
Tuesday night’s President’s Reception is a memorable event

you will not want to miss. We will have full run of the Chihuly Gardens and Glass. Possibly the most widely recognized blown glass artist in
the world, Dale Chihuly is known for his obsession with nature and creating artwork that embraces
the unexpected and unpredictable growth of plants. Chihuly Gardens and Glass, set at the base of the Space Needle, includes both an indoor museum and an outdoor garden with his artwork displayed throughout. Bring your cameras
to capture the night lighting of the beautiful glass sculptures. You will not want to miss this unforgettable evening and an opportunity to toast our President and First Lady, Bob and Erin Christie, in their beautiful hometown.
You also want to include a visit to the wonderful Seattle Aquarium, sitting right on the water and a pleasant walk from the hotel. Your families will enjoy its one-of-a-kind undersea dome with a 360° view into a 400,000-gallon habitat, filled with hundreds of fascinating Puget Sound fish! In addition to schools of silvery, open-water salmon, there are large Lingcod lurking around underwater reefs and sharks gliding effortlessly through the depths. Interactive touch tanks and an octopus are sure to delight even the youngest members.
Throughout the week, we will have a number of additional activities for all. For those inspired by Chihuly, sign up for the glass blowing event the following afternoon. Inspired by Bob Christie’s championship crew skills? Join Bob on the water for a lesson. Want to really get a bird’s eye view of Seattle? Hop on one of the seaplane excursions.
