The Lifetime
Achievement Award
Committee is hard
at work considering
possible awardees
for one of the most
prestigious awards
given by the FDCC. What makes
this award so special is what it
takes to even be considered – years
of exemplary service to this great
organization.
All one needs to do is look at the
list of past awardees to understand
the level of dedication required.
They are all FDCC icons. Of course,
what makes this committee’s work
so special is also what it makes it so
difficult – to find that one person
whose FDCC career stands above
everyone else. In an organization
full of amazing and successful
people, there are certainly many
to choose from. When nominees
are vetted during the admissions
process, we look for candidates that
are “over & above” other lawyers.
This award goes to those who have
spent decades of their professional
and personal life serving the FDCC
with their time and talents.
Our official charter is to award
members “who are ‘over and above’
in their career, in the Federation,
and in their community.” The
award is given annually at the
Winter Meeting and Charleston will
be no exception.
Looking at the list of past recipients
reminds me of how proud I am
to be member of an organization
with such impressive leaders. This
award serves as a public reminder
of their service.
