‘Warden’
Warden is the Nyoongar word for Ocean, this artwork is an abstract view of the Indian Ocean in Western Australia. from the greens and yellows of the shallow waters and rock pools to the dark blues of the deep ocean, to the turquoise of the waters around Rottnest Island.
Also the beautiful white sand and the shallow sand banks are shown.
This artwork was send to the 2018 Quinjang China International Art Exhibition in Hangzhou China. The Original artwork now
resides in the Hangzhou Qianjing International Art Museum.
‘Shoalwater’
Shoalwater is an artwork of Penguin Island off the coast from Rockingham in Western Australia. The island is close to the mainland and can be walked to at low tide, this is shown by the sand bank connecting the island and the main land in the bottom centre of the image.
Penguin island is part of the shoalwater marine park that is in the lower most south part of the Derbarlmarra, the name for the shallow sea that separates the islands from the coast. The Derbarlmarra is represented with lots sand banks and the flow of the ocean between the island and the mainland.
