It’s time to consider top water presentations, with water temps on the rise the bass should be moving off the beds, not all, but the majority should be in the post spawn mode. Typically, the

shown me that top water is a good bet during this time. When water temps are in the mid to high sixty degree area, I break out all my top water gear. My go to lure is the double buzz bait, backed up by top water stick baits. When I am near weeds lines, I like to throw plastic frog like baits, they are a solid choice in shallow weedy areas. What- ever you have developed confi- dence in is the bait you should use, belief in your presentation is half the battle.
As previously mentioned, there are still some fish on the bed, some soft creature baits and slow and low presentation while sight fishing will produce some good results. The biggest bass I landed in NH was a very late
female on the bed on the 17th of July, I was very surprised at this, I was not sight fishing, I was throwing lizards on a Texas rig when I got lucky and landed a 9 lber. No one was more shocked than me, I was fishing with my nephew, who was about 8 years old at the time, he had the honor of netting a monstrous bass. The look on his face was price- less, I don’t know who was more jacked, me or him. I would take him with me often after that, he was hooked on bass fishing from that moment forward. That be- came an annual tradition for us and I looked forward to it as much or more than he did. We made some great memories and still reminisce about those days we talk. I used to try to take all
of my nieces and nephews fish- ing when they would come to NH on vacation. It was a great time to get to know them and show them a different them a different skill which they may or may not have been exposed to. Not all of them took to fishing, but all of them had an adventure on the water, out in nature, fish- ing or just observing wild life and enjoying time spent out of doors. I recommend bringing live bait when fishing with your younger kids so they can have fun naming the minnows or having crayfish races when they get bored, it’s fun for them and keeps them occupied while the others on the boat continue to fish. As always have fun, good luck and get out of doors and enjoy!
