Tales, Twins, Turtles and a Treasure Part II
In the July issue of Newfound Lake Life, we read about two sets of twin boys. Each pair had a special relationship with a tur- tle. Introduced first were twins from the mythology of indige- nous Americans. These twins were saved by the presence of a giant turtle. After their rescue, they became the creators of our earthscape and brought forth the animals that would inhabit it. Next we read briefly about twin boys who, now grown to manhood, live in Bristol. Their special relationship with a turtle began in Braintree, Massachu- setts over a half century ago. They named her Diane and her comforting presence has encour- aged Bristol’s twins, Brad and Jim Tonner, to bring the wonders of creation to children (and adults) around the world through their books illustrated with pictures of mountains, forests, rivers, lakes and grasslands inhabited with a
