key dinner on Thursday, Karen Werner of Holderness brought her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren along on Friday to help decide which tree would best suit her holiday décor, and said they had fun hunting the right tree down.
“The kids (from Connecticut) get a kick out of cutting a tree and pulling it out of the woods. They’re not used to that where they live,” she said.
Werner has been buying her Christmas trees at LeBlanc’s for 15 years now and always looks forward to the experience.
“It sets the tone for the sea- son,” she said.
Whatever the preferences may be, the LeBlanc family offers both freshly pre-cut and cut-your-own trees for their customers. Saws, tarps, and tie-down string are also provided to help everyone get their selection safely home for the holidays.
LeBlanc’s Christmas Tree Farm is now open on weekdays from noon until dark and from 9 a.m. until dark on weekends from now until Christmas.
shops in downtown Plymouth and Bristol are great places to pick up holiday lights and locally made decorations and gifts to place under that tree for Christ- mas morning.
DANBURY – Long’s Christ- mas Tree Farm in Danbury is up and running for the holiday sea- son, and anyone in search of the perfect Christmas tree is invited to stop by to select from the acres of quality grown and expertly pruned trees they have to offer.
Jamie and Stephanie Long are professionals in the forest indus- try, making their farm a premiere place to find the perfect Christ- mas tree.
While not busy with their profession, the couple maintains Jamie Long’s grandfather’s for- mer dairy farm. Today as many as 1,000 Balsam and Frasier firs, along with a limited selection of White Pine, Colorado Blue Spruce, and Concolor fir, fill the sloping of fields, which provide a scenic view of nearby Forbes Mountain.
The tree farm officially opened on the day after Thanks- giving.

another five acres of trees nearby in Bridgewater. Popular trees such as Fraser Fir, the fragrant Balsam Fir, and Blue Spruce are among their selections. But they also have some more unique Christmas trees like Canaan Fir (a beautiful Balsam and Fraser hybrid), Korean, and even a few Concolor fir trees.
“The Korean Fir is an ab- solutely gorgeous tree,” owner Norm LeBlanc said.
Concolor is also a great selec- tion with upsweeping branches and lengthy needle retention.
“That’s a pretty tree that’s natural to the higher elevations of New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah,” he explained. It turns out they grow well in New Hamp- shire, too.
Besides the trees, Norm’s wife Deb also offers some beautiful handcrafted wreaths for sale, and many people took one home along with their tree last week- end. One stop shopping, one customer said with a smile.
The business was brisk when the farm opened after Thanks- giving, and people were eager to be among the first to pick out
lections. Handsaws are available for those who need one, and as- sistance for anyone unable to cut their own tree is gladly provided upon request.
Long’s Christmas Tree Farm is located one mile up Taylor Hill Road off Route 104 in Danbury, just over the Alexandria town line.
PLYMOUTH: This year, there are only 27 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so
that meant that LeBlanc’s Christ- mas Tree Farm, along with other tree farms in the state, was a pop- ular destination last weekend as set out to prepare for the next rapidly approaching holiday.
LeBlanc’s, located at 392
Texas Hill Rd. in Plymouth, has
not only five acres of trees to se-
