 Ola Dubh 12
“A Labour of love. Everything about it is extreme. We fill the mash tuns to the brim with Roast Barley, Pinhead Oats and Malted Barley. It ferments more slowly as I think the yeast struggles to move around in such a vis- cous beer! We put this Old Engine Oil into Highland Park Whisky barrels and it stays there for at least 6 months. During this time the flavours from the wood enter the beer to produce Ola Dubh.“ Head Brewer, Stuart

Ola Dubh 12 pours black with a modest spattered head that reduces slowly, leaving behind textbook lacing. The aroma is delicious, flavours of smoky-sweet malts, roasted peat, coffee beans and a well bittered finish. Overall this is a rather exotic brew with a defined barrel influence.
