YOU LIVE IN LONDON, BUT I HEARD YOU HAVE A HOU- SE IN ITALY IN THE COUN- TRYSIDE. WHAT DOES THE COUNTRY- SIDE DO TO YOUR QUALITY
OF LIFE?
Life in Italy is very much centered on seasonality and nature and truly appreciating those aspects away from the chaos of the city. I try and escape there whenever I can – even just a day or two is totally transformative for the senses.
THESE DAYS WE WANT TO BE SUSTAINABLE. AT THE SAME TIME, WE LOVE TO BUY NEW THINGS FOR OUR HOMES. HOW SHOULD WE BEHAVE?
Sustainability is hugely important for us and I think it’s a trend that will only continue to gather momentum and quite rightly. The importance of buying well is now more crucial than ever. We’re proud to have our own, innovative recycled fabric col- lection, Lisbon. The collection com- prises three different designs, all of which are woven in Italy from yarns recycled from the fashion industry. We worked with our supplier who developed accredited techniques to break down and revive redundant textiles into good quality yarns. It is estimated that 10 – 20 percent of all fashion industry textiles ultimately end up as waste, whilst 95 percent of landfilled textiles are in fact suitable for recycling. The Lisbon collection features smart, small scale textured weaves, which have a mid-century contemporary feel.
