In week two we welcomed our
Foundation students to their very first Chapel or Assembly for the year. This assembly was significant as we announced our 2023 Primary Prefects and 2023 Primary House Captains.
A Primary house captain is a student leader dedicated to encouraging and supporting Primary students in athletic and sporting events. They are ambassadors responsible for representing the houses of Tyndale, Hughes and Lewis in the lead-
up and running of Sports Day and other events.
A prefect is a student leader dedicated to representing Harvest Christian College’s student body. They lead with respect, kindness, compassion and understanding. They attend important meetings and speak on behalf of our students. In addition
to these responsibilities, our prefects
are vital in assisting the Primary SRC
to manage and run fundraisers and key events which make our school community unique.
Primary Assembly
The Bible says in 1 Peter 5:3, “Be an example to the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” This verse reminds us that as leaders, we should not only lead with our words but also with our actions. We should strive to embody love, faith, and purity in all we do.
Meet the Teacher
Thank you to all the parents who came to our Meet The Teacher Evening last night.
It was a great night in spite of the hot weather and we appreciated Mrs Ayoub and the students who helped her make Coffee and Iced Lattes.
The primary teachers opened their classrooms and Mrs Skinner put on a wonderful display in the art room. The secondary teachers set up a Subject Marketplace in the PAC and there was a very positive ‘buzz’ in the room as parents and teachers talked about their subject areas and students.
The night ended with an introductory presentation about The Rite Journey with our year 9 students and families.
