Bosnians connect
Croatia and Slovenia
Bosnia is the first thing you will see when entering Slovenia from
Croatia or the last thing when leaving Slovenia and entering Croatia
across the border Gruškovje. Well now, maybe not Bosnia, but
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s company certainly.
For almost 20 months at the very entrance to Slovenia, on the right side
of the road there is the biggest B-H camp of construction company
Euro-Asfalt, and on the left, on a distance of nearly six kilometers, there
is a construction site with several hundred employees, Bosnians on
temporary work, as well as Slovenians. Zdenko Bojić, a Bosnian man
from Kakanj, residing in Zagreb, who comes to Slovenia every day to
work, manages the construction site.
The construction site is the result of one of the two contracts that Euro-
Asfalt got in Slovenia within only eight months, with a total value of just
over 60 million Euros. A contract was signed in Montenegro as well, worth
more than 40 million Euros, so the seal of this company will be put on that
country as well; projects in Germany come in series, one after another.
It should be noted that the signature of this B-H company stands at
many impressive buildings all over the country and the world. From far
Abu Dhabi where they “signed” the building of the police stations, Libya,
where they have built and reconstructed kilometers of highways, the
Munich Allianz Arena, through the tunnels in Albania and Bosnia and
Herzegovina, to already mentioned Slovenia and Montenegro.
The value of the Euro-Asfalt’s operations in the country and abroad,
at this time is amounting in total about 400 million BAM. Behind the
workers and machines of this company remain roads and buildings
constructed according to the highest professional standards and built
before the deadlines.
In two decades of its existence, the Euro-Asfalt has become a company
unconditionally trusted worldwide. Their employees are not athletes
who promote their country at sporting events, but they are masters
who transform even the toughest terrains into modern roads, which
are, if not the best, then certainly one of the best export products of
Bosnia and Herzegovina.
