Tucson SAR Chapter inducts five new members
In rather cramped quarters, the Tucson Chapter held a 27 November 2021 meeting at the Morgan McDermott #7 American Legion Hall. President Mike Sacco called the meeting to order greeting the attendees followed by the Invocation by Chaplain Chris Francis and the pledges of allegiance and the SAR pledge.
President Coleman introduced Junior Compatriot and C. A. R. State President Alexander who gave a very interesting presentation. Chapter Secretary John Bird then presented a check for $488 to President Alexander for the C. A. R. Kachina Society.
This was followed by President Coleman inducting five individuals, Alexander Barrow, David Michael Kuczai, Dr. Michael McLeod, Hector Soza and Randal Soza, into the Chapter and presenting them with their new member certificates and Rosettes.
Of interest is the fact that the Tucson Chapter has long attempted to find documentation for the Soza's ancestor who served honorably in the 1770s Tucson Presidio and contributed to the American Revolution cause. Thanks to some great leg work by Rudy Byrd, Bill Aurand and Rick Collins we found success and now welcome father and son, Hector and Randal Soza, into our chapter together with Alexander Barrow, David Kuczai and Dr. Michael McLeod.
Tucson Chapter Officers for the 2022 year were read and approved with all current officers serving in place with the exception of the Vice President's Office which is open. Volunteers gratefully considered! The meeting concluded with the fifty fifty drawing won by Samantha Back.
