LCCVI defeated North Lambton 9-0 in LKSSAA boys hockey ac on and beat the Eagles 1-0 in girls ac on for a two-game sweep at Homecoming last Thursday in Petrolia. The day before the boys had blanked Northern 7-0 in Sarnia.
The boys are 3-0 and have outscored their opposi on, 19-1. They host Great Lakes Dec. 20 at Greenwood at 2 pm, while the girls and boys take on North Lambton at the Shores Recrea on Complex in Forest on Dec. 21. The puck drops on the boys contest at 11:30 am, followed by the girls contest at 1 pm.

The Petrolia Flyers have two games in two nights this week as they inch closer to their Christmas break.

Last Tuesday, Kole Keating opened the scoring in the  rst period, but the Flyers eventually fell 4-1 in Essex as the 73’s
The Flyers are solidly in sixth place in the Stobbs Division with a record of 12-11-3.

Petrolia’s Duncan Core had what proved to be the game-winning goal in the second period as the Mooretown Flags upset Essex, 4-1 last Saturday night in PJHL action at the Moore Sports Complex.
The 73’s spoiled the shutout bid by Jake Wilkins with its lone goal at 13:57 of the third period. Wilkins made 28 saves for his third straight win. He is 8-2 in his last 10 decisions, including back-to-back wins over Essex over the past two weeks.
It was Core’s  rst game back after missing more than a month of action with an injury.
Mooretown is only two points behind fourth place Dresden and four points in arrears of third place Amhersburg in the standings. Their record is 15-8-2.
Cameron Rannie, Daniel Wellington and Hayden MacDonald also scored for the Flags who have now won four straight games.
The Flags welcome Wheatley to home ice this Saturday at 7:30 pm after its visit to Petrolia on Thursday.

Fulcher, Bulldogs shut door on Mississauga
Brigden’s Kaden Fulcher made a season- high 45 saves, including 21 in the  nal period, to backstop the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 5-2 win over over the Steelheads in Mississauga in OHL action Sunday.
The Bulldogs lead the Eastern Conference with a record of 18-7-6. They were ninth in the latest CHL Top Ten rankings.
Fulcher has only lost once in regulation time in  ve appearances this month. He’s 14-7-5 overall.
Sault Ste. Marie is ranked number one. The Greyhounds roster includes Hayden Verbeek who has family ties to the Wyoming region. The Sarnia Sting are ranked third.
They are  ve points behind  fth place Mooretown and six points better than seventh place Wheatley.

The tradition of Turkey Night with the Petrolia Squires continues Friday when Huron East provides the Western Ontario Athletic Association Senior Hockey opposition at the Greenwood Recreation Centre. Game time is 8:30 pm.
