Splinting Finger Splints: Extension
Rolyan® Finger Sleeve. Comfortable Neoprene sleeve. Optional metal stay can be worn on volar or dorsal sur- face of the digit for support. Measure around finger at PIP crease to de- termine PIP/DIP circumference. For length, with finger straight, measure corresponding finger on unaffected hand from MCP crease to tip of distal phalanx. Latex free.
Dynamic Digit Extension TubeTM. This curved splint applies a 30° reverse angle under the PIP joint to simu- late a spring-like mechanism. The gentle pressure that is distributed reduces PIP joint flexion contractures. Suitable for flexion contractures up to 80°. The Neoprene splint provides a relaxing warmth, uniform circumferential pres- sure to help reduce edema, and is useful in scar tissue remodeling. Can be trimmed in length or in web space. Ideal for use with acute injuries, for post-surgical repairs of the PIP joints, and to offset the PIP flexion in spinal cord injuries C7 or higher. For size, measure circumference of the PIP joint.
Joint Jack® Finger Splint. Helps correct PIP finger flexion contractures. Amount
of pressure adjusts quickly with a turn of the screw. Soft steel splint can be bent for final fitting. Includes felt pad and adjust- able cotton strap. For size, measure the distance from the MCP crease at the base of the finger to the middle of the nail bed. Latex free.
BunnellTM Modified Safety Pin Splint. Static splint with bilateral spring coil extends the PIP and DIP joints to correct flexion contractures. Constructed of spring wire and felt. To size, mea- sure from MP to DIP crease. Latex free.
BunnellTM Spring Wire Safety Pin Splint.
Static splint extends the PIP and DIP joints to cor- rect flexion contractures. To size, measure from MP to DIP crease. Latex free.
Clockspring/BunnellTM Extension Splint.
Made with stainless steel and padded with felt, this splint is used in the case of flexion contrac- tures. Measure from web space to finger tip. Sold individually. Latex free.
