  HAPPY TRAILS –
Major Russ Conte, NH State Police
Chief Adams, Laconia Police
Chief after serving on the
Laconia Police Depart-
ment for just over 23
years. Chris was not only
a great friend to the rally
but was such a pleasure
to work with. Although
always professional,
Chris managed to create
a welcoming atmosphere
anywhere he went.
Luckily for us, we can
still see Chris throughout the Lakes Region as he works as a full-time licensed real-estate agent for Re-Max/Bayside. Chief Canfield may have big shoes to fill but we know he’s more than qualified for the job with over 21 years of experience working with Laconia Motorcycle Week® and on the force of the Laconia Police Department. Now, let’s put it in writing – Chief Canfield – only 5 more years until the 100th Anniversary – you better be sticking around! #

The most recent retiree is Major Russ Conte of the NH State Police. I have worked with a lot of people in public safety and Russ is right at the top for being a great friend to Laconia Motorcycle Week®. Russ is a previous winner of the coveted Fritzie Bear Award for his work helping to pave the pathway for motorcyclists to be welcomed in communities throughout the State of NH over his 32 years of service to the NH State Police– need I say more? Russ will continue to work part-time and with any luck, we’ll see him during this year’s 95th Anniversary!
Last year’s rally started off with a bittersweet note – as we congratulated long-time Laconia Police Officer and Captain, Matt Canfield, on becoming Chief of the Laconia Police Department, that meant we also had to say our farewell to Chris Adams, who retired from his position as
Although it can be tempting to hit the road without a destination in mind, planning a route will ensure you’ll stay well fed and gassed up. If you don’t have a GPS, get up-to-date maps and go online to get a list of hotels and camp- grounds near your route so you can find a place to rest for the night.
Plan your route.
 Here’s looking at you kid!
