Chairman’s
Message
BETTER FOR ALL
M
y parents encouraged me during my childhood to volunteer for
community-based organizations. They said that a stronger community
was better for all citizens. My husband and I have spent time with our
children—like many of you have, I’m sure—describing the importance
of the mission of the organizations we are involved with, whether as a
board or committee member. Both of our children have started to get
involved with organizations that they found a true interest in.
The feature article in this month’s magazine is very eye opening. Social proit, a concept
described by David Grant, the former president and CEO of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foun-
dation in Morristown, makes sense. As the business community, we need to take part in
making sure our community is strong and we can do
As the business community, we that by working with community-based organizations
need to take part in making sure around their missions. As I think about various mem-
bers of the MIDJersey Chamber, I associate them with
our community is strong and
not only their business, but with the organizations they are involved
we can do that by working with with. Having a passion for a thriving community is something so many
community-based organizations of the business leaders in our region have in common.

banker was the Golf and Tennis committee. The annual Golf and Tennis
outing occurs this year on July 20 at Mercer Oaks for golf and Trenton
Country Club for tennis. This is one of the best networking opportunities of the year so I hope to see you at
the dinner that follows the two events.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer.
Best,
Stacy Mattia
