In PA and NJ there are plenty of nearby options for fun on the water, according to Performance Physical Therapist
Jim Tholany.
PADDLE BOARDING
Especially good for beginners on a lake or a sound, paddle boarding is so much fun that you almost forget about the killer core workout.
CANOEING
If you have lots of bodies in your crew, canoeing is the perfect way to get everyone active and pulling together.
KAYAKING
Great for building
strength and aerobic
fitness, kayak rentals are
an accessible and inexpensive way to get out on the water.
WATER SKIING
It may take a few tries, especially for the little
ones, but once you get up on skis, you’ll want someone to pull you around all day.
TUBING OR RAFTING
The Delaware River provides plenty of rapids, often with breathtaking views. Depending on
ages and abilities, rafts and tubes can be one
heck of a ride.
SURFING
With dozens of
surfing schools and camps in and around the Jersey Shore, you and your kids will be taking waves in no time.
