Established in 2006, Essential Pharmaceuticals’ story actu- 

ally goes back to 2000 with the launch of Custodiol HTK organ 
preservation solution. At that time, Allan Weber—now CEO of 

Essential—had brought the product to Odyssey Pharmaceuticals 

as part of the company’s new organ transplant line of business. 
Custodiol rapidly grew into a signiicant, yet highly specialized, 

business with its own sales team and marketing network.
