Tyler Perry Studios is the first African-American owned major motion picture and television studio. Founded by filmmaker/actor/writer Tyler Perry. The studio was estab- lished in 2006 and moved into its current facilities on more than 60-acres in the fall of 2008. This 200,000 square foot studio, located in Atlanta consists of 5 sound stages, a full
post-production facility, a 5-acre pond, a back lot, a 400- seat theater, a private screening room, and designated
areas for entertaining and hosting events
