If we are to be truly effective in the long term, it will be critical for you to move beyond your role as an educational manager, and step up into your role as an educational leader. But to do this, you’ll need to perform a delicate balancing act between day-to-day management and visionary leadership.
As Roselinde Torres (2014) says,
“Great 21st century leaders are women and men who are preparing themselves not for the comfortable predictability of yesterday, but also for the realities of today and all of those unknown possibilities of tomorrow.”
Are you going to sit back and let things happen to education? Or are you going to provide the “leadershift” that’s needed to ensure your organizations are doing the best job possible. LeaderShift 2020 is about taking action. Let’s find north. Let’s identify the elements that need to be aligned if we are to reimagine, repurpose, and reinvent education. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and start on our journey towards LeaderShift 2020!
