“A CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS OPENING HEARTS MINDS AND DOORS....”
2. District, School and Staff Level Technical Support Improvements
Technical support requires improvements in the level of service to meet the technical support requirements of Students, Teachers, Support Staff, and Administrators and their response time needs. In addition, the mode of operation needs to move into a more proactive mode of operations that includes: planning, scheduling, monitoring, evaluating and budgeting in advance.
ICT Technology Support
ICT (Information Communication Technology), CTS (Career Technology Studies) and Assistive Technology are integrated throughout the various curriculums. Taking this into consideration Lakeland Catholic developed a district position to support teachers in the implementation of technology in everyday instruction. Phil Switzer was hired in 1999 - 2000 and was the first ICT Support Teacher in Lakeland Catholic. Phil was responsible for providing instructional support to both elementary and high school programs in the communities of Cold Lake and Bonnyville.
