To finalize my article of wins for the month, the new Trump WOTUS became law this June. WOTUS is now titled the Navigable Waters Protection Rule and is a much more limited rule that is not meant to be the land and water grab that the Obama administration WOTUS became. WOTUS is still being challenged in court because it is not perfect, but the fact that WOTUS no longer seeks to govern state waters to the extent that the previous WOTUS was able to do, is a win for ag.
As we look forward, I would like to remind everyone to vote, pay attention to who is running, their platforms, and the power they will gain if elected into office. One of the
best things about the internet is the availability of informa- tion. Some of it is good, useful information, some of it is crap. Make sure you know the difference. Keep in mind that checking the first name on the ballot may not be the best decision. As this article does tell you, who you vote for as a judge DOES matter, even at the Superior Court level. If you are unable to find information prior to voting, please take the time to call someone and talk about the candidates. Making good decisions when filling out the ballot will have lasting impacts on all of us. Be an informed voter!
