Not sure how its already fall but in all honesty I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I’m ready to decorate for Christmas and say goodbye to 2020! We’ve just had hit after hit to agriculture, yet agriculturalists are resilient. Thankfully our teachers and students are resilient as well! What a different year this has been with distance learning ending the school year and now continuing into this year! A HUGE learning curve for teachers, parents, and students!
We, at Washington Ag in the Classroom, have been trying our best to equip teachers with on-line tools and resources since March. We will continue to share resources and opportunities!
We are excited to continue the production of Ag @ School in both printed and digital formats available FREE to educators and FREE to download on the website (including past issues).
We will be launching efforts to develop virtual field trips showcasing the diversity of Washington agriculture and giving students opportunities to experience farms virtually!
Please visit our website - http://www.waic.net which continues to be an accurate source for agriculture resources and links. The National Ag in the Classroom link to the Curriculum matrix is a huge and dynamic source of on-line lesson plans aligned with Common Core standards that continually has new plans being added! You can search for a grade level or topic area for agricultural lessons reflecting all subject areas for grades K-12. They have really “stepped up” virtual experiences to enhance our new remote learning platform.
