IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER AND BMW
An active lifestyle and a shared taste for the ner things inspires a couple’s coveted BMW collection.
By Robin Hodes
“I’m in the X6 now and loving it!” Tanya, a longtime, valued Braman client is speak- ing to me from one of her and her hus- band Nicholas’ eet of BMWs and MINIs. With a 2016 BMW 428, a 2016 X4, a 2016 X6, a 2016 528, and two MINIs among them‐‐not to mention 4 young’uns (3 tod- dlers plus a ten‐year old) and a handful
of ourishing businesses—driving is a welcome escape for Tanya. “I get behind the wheel and all the stress melts away,” she says.
Whether the couple is using their vehi- cles to tote the kids and all the gear that comes with them, as a car service for out‐of‐town nursing students who have come to Lake Worth to study at Tanya’s parents’ Capscare Academy for health- care education (for which Tanya serves
as Campus Director), traveling to and from Tanya and Nick’s jointly‐owned wine bar/beer garden/art gallery, or cruising around on “date night,” BMW and Braman are a meaningful part of their busy and ful lling lifestyle.
Since 2005, Tanya, a West Palm Beach res- ident, has worked for the family business, Capscare Academy for Health Care Educa- tion, Inc., a nursing school in Lake Worth, Florida. “We started with a mere 10 to 20 students, and now have anywhere from
100 to 1500 at a time, coming from all over the world to study,”Tanya explains. Via both on-line and traditional classes, the school now o ers 3 degree programs and 5 diploma programs, plus continuing education.
“Tanya will never forget how her rst Braman Service advisor, Ralph Fonti treated her like a VIP customer from day one.”
Tanya fell in love with her now husband Nicholas over a shared a nity for art, wine, and craft beer. “Once he came
into my life, everything turned around,” expresses Tanya, who credits Nicholas’ thriving company, Complete Tech Solu- tions, for bringing her parents’ nursing school from a small business to a large institution. “In this day and age, you need the foundation of a good tech company, and without them, we couldn’t employ up to 30 people,” she declares.
A self‐proclaimed wine fanatic, in the past several years Tanya ful lled her dream of starting her own wine label, Kemorene Wines. She began promoting her brand with the help of a Philadelphia‐based, non‐pro t women’s organization, and is now licensed in 47 states to ship her label directly to homes.
The more they got to know each other, the more the couple realized they had much in common. “He knew as much about craft beer as I did about wine,”
she recounts. Also, they both shared a passion for art. Fast‐forward to October 2017 when the pair opened The Sugar Plum and The Grumbling Growler, an
art gallery and wine and beer bar (also lovingly referred to by patrons as SP & GG), located on bustling Lucerne Avenue in Lake Worth. Tanya and Nicholas, clearly not just “dreamers” but “do‐ers,” celebrated the grand opening of SP & GG this past St. Patrick’s Day.
Besides adoring their kids, their work, and each other, Tanya and Nicholas cherish their BMWs and MINIs. “I hate to sound cliché, but it truly is the ultimate driving experience,” says Tanya, who started out with a convertible MINI from which she gleaned “that race car feeling.” Eventually, she got into the 3‐series for comfort, and then the 6‐series for speed.
Tanya will never forget how her rst ser- vice advisor, Ralph Fonti, treated her like a VIP customer from day one; regardless of the fact she had purchased her rst BMW elsewhere. “Ralph has always looked out for me,” she comments. “He has always orchestrated a great t as far as service is concerned.”
