Think back to cotton and cane fields. We started with field hollas, directly derived from Africa. From field hollas to work songs. Then, one day, we connected a broomstick to a piece of rope and an upside down, wooden wash bucket, and we got to thumpin’. Then we got a guitar, and created the blues. And one day, Jimi Hendrix decided to play a guitar on the left side, upside down, and backwards and caused the rock and roll equipment industry to invent all kinds of new gear, just to imitate his sound.
