Instability and Change in Latin America
Social discontent rises on the continent. Part of the the matter is an economic problem initiated by the end of the boom in raw materials; the migrations that
compete with the poorest of the receiving countries; the demands of the emerging middle classes and, among others, the political use made of the real crisis.
The global economic crisis, which began in 2008 and ended in 2010, was one of the longest and most intense that the world has ever experienced since the Great Depression of 1929. Paradoxically, while in 2010 the developed countries were just beginning to rise, Latin
America continued to enjoy from its time of glory, which began in 2000 and reached its climax precisely between 2010 and 2014, thanks to China’s insatiable demand for raw materials. Just that year, 2010, a process that was in continuous rise, reached its highest level when the
