In summary, the situation was surprising and disastrous and certainly affected our conglomerate in many aspects. Therefore we had to face the fact of having to reinvent ourselves and start a new stage. This is how we managed to evolve in the line of strengthening our internationalization, in order to achieve intense coordination of our 12 subsidiaries distributed throughout the continent, providing each of the Specialty Divisions that we have, with a continental Steering Committee with jurisdiction over the entire Region for a definition of products and common marketing programs, among other tasks.
The Renaissance of Montt Group
Latin America was one of the regions most affected by the covid-19 pandemic, which caused one of the largest health and economic crises in a century. In fact, the World Health Organization described our Region as the epicenter of the pandemic, with a high percentage of deaths of the 15 million that were registered worldwide and with a notable interruption and after that, paralysis of economic activity.
Let us remember that the Gross Domestic Product of Latin America plummeted by more than eight percent, surpassing the impact of the crisis in the European Union and other emerging economies, perhaps because even before the pandemic local economies already had serious weaknesses that worsened the situation.
This forced the closure of more than three million companies throughout the subcontinent, that is, around 20 percent of productive organizations. The destruction of employment was also significant, with a decline of more than a decade. All efforts to reduce poverty in the previous 10 years were nullified by an increase to nearly 30 million
We have been committed to this great change since the end of the pandemic, something that allows us to look calmly at the immediate future because it is finally bearing fruit in different areas, one of which corresponds to the reactivation of our corporate magazine Montt Magazine, that from now on will be called Montt Group Magazine, in charge of showing the regulatory reality of Latin American countries, according to an agile and current, journalistic vision, communicated with direct language, appropriate for businessmen.
We are interested in making known the main regulatory modifications that are discussed in the respective Congresses of the Region and that can subsequently be implemented in the different countries. This knowledge is necessary for companies that must adhere to these regulations to define successful actions. of their respective corporations.
