SOP Title: Adaptive Leadership within a MODEL Framework
• Stay informed on safety and compliance directives daily and devise and communication structure with your team to ensure knowledge and understanding. Ensure to share Leadership communication, policy updates, Town Halls, Clinical Leadership Team, Supply Chain and Say Yes to Safety information in your huddles and team meetings.
• Stay on the pulse of your direct reports’ needs and concerns. What equipment and resources do they need?
o Routinely hold wellness checks and remind them of the COVID Dependent Care and employees wellness resources.
o HoldListeningforHealingandunderstandingSessionsandBecomethe Difference Action Kits and Leadership Salons.
o Sometimes have a just for fun meeting just to connect on a personal level (e.g., virtual coffees and lunches).
• Routinely surveillance your operations and closures for new policy updates, HICS command structure guidance and directives from senior leadership. Revaluate your risks to benefits assessment and thresholds in your operations. Should the status change? What processes need modification?
• Develop Key performance metrics and be sure to communication the modified expectations with your team and get their feedback. For example, “we are working flexible hours, as long as you are meeting the stated key performance metrics within the safety and compliance mandates, you are meeting the expectations.”
5.3 Establish Meeting Plan
The supervisory staff will develop a meeting plan for the direct report/employee to open a solid line of communication and provide effective feedback based on the following:
• During the first six months it is recommended that One-on-One meetings occur weekly at a minimum.
• For months seven through twelve it is recommended that One-on-One meetings occur monthly at a minimum.
• Leader/Staff Rounding will occur at a minimum of monthly. It is recommended that the Rounding Question of the Month be utilized when completing the Leader Rounding on Staff – Log.
5.4 Modify Meeting Plan
The supervisory staff and direct report/employee will work together to modify the meeting plan to meet the needs of the:
• direct report/employee
• supervisory staff
• department
• organization
