CONRAD on a bench in the manicured garden, rolling a
cigarette. He’s joined by JOHNNY HANSON, a well preserved
older man, cultured, suave and still handsome for his years. JOHNNY HANSON
Apologies for intruding, but I
couldn’t cadge a fag could I?
CONRAD
Sure.
CONRAD passes him his cigarette and starts rolling another. JOHNNY HANSON
Much appreciated.
CONRAD offers him a light.
JOHNNY HANSON (CONT'D)
Just what the Doctor ordered. It
was starting to get a bit stuffy in
there. I’m Johnny, by the way.
Johnny Hanson.
CONRAD
Hi. GORGEOUS
JOHNNY HANSON
So, if you don’t mind me asking,
how do you know Geraldine?
CONRAD
I didn’t know her well. She was
just a passing acquaintance. We
spent a bit of time together when I
was young. During the school
holidays. How about you?
JOHNNY HANSON
I was just one of many suitors,
another moth to her flame. We had
fun for a few years before she
traded me in for a wanker who was
the Keyboard Player in what was
then the biggest band on the
planet. You probably saw him
inside, the pillock in the pink
jacket with the pony tail. Anyway,
he flew her around the world in his
Private Jet and all I had to offer
was my DB bloody 5. I didn’t stand
an earthly. Still, I got over it.
