upon God’s gift of our visionary and rational faculties. And just as Christ and Saint Paul were true philosophers and lovers of wisdom who valiantly spread the new tidings, it is the Church’s duty, as the offspring of these two mighty true philosophers, genuine lovers of wisdom and of God who is Wisdom and Truth, to pursue and consider and reveal the truth of God’s wondrous creation discovered in these new scientific tidings, not only founded upon my diligent and systematic scrutiny, study and testing, but also founded and adhering to Copernicus’ model so as to glorify the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
That this Holy Council ought to consider the dangers of ignoring the truth of God’s reality and of God’s wondrous creation as it is revealed to man through the span of centuries, for it would be a sin against God’s creation to keep God’s creatures in the dark and in ignorance, inculcating false belief, when His providence has willed a new truth to be revealed based on coherent and systematic observation, testing, and proper induction.
Lastly, that the Earth orbits around the Sun is not a detriment to the Church or to faith, for the Catholic Church also orbits around Jesus Christ who is the Sun, and the Light, and the Way, and the Truth. As such, the earth, the one planet so conditioned for life and possessing such beauty and symmetry in all of nature, revolves around the beautiful sun, which is the wondrous spirit of Christ, not only confirming Copernicus’ findings, but also remaining as God’s privileged living and intelligent realm in the Universe.
