Invoked must the muses and white goddesses of poetry be, invoked if Dante the poet is to survive peril. To forcefully climb an alien stairway is to ascend that which never belonged to us, never was meant for us. Labyrinth of labyrinths. It is to suffer one’s bitter trials away from home, from self, from language’s peculiar and blooming rhymes. It is a tragic act of dissonance: discord. Cacophony. Gaps. Voids. Cracks. A longing for that euphony that only the Hototogisu hears: verb made word made song: manna and nurse. It is to slowly relearn existence, to cope and begin anew, to feel strange, different, to hesitate, to often fall, to re-start, to scribble and draft a pact with one’s otherness of the other: Dante the Poet with Dante the Pilgrim. Dante the Pilgrim must ascend towards his other, his higher self, his Father and Maker, Supreme Poet and Creator, fountain and water, source of every breath and inspiration, to resurrect from estrangement in that Word of words: terza rimas of his being, the very Father, Son and Holy spirit of pilgrim poesy.

Dante’s ascension, a progressive unfolding of prophetic truth, will mirror Christ’s. Dante, exile and ascetic priest, has first to face and tread through Inferno’s Satan, just as Jesus had to faced Satan’s desert temptations. Imitating Christ’s ministry, Dante’s ministry pursues Christian morality with a whip of righteousness as if Mount Purgatorio and Spheric Paradiso conjoined the famous Sermon Mount of Christ near Capernaum. Like Christ, prophet- aspiring Dante wishes to instruct, teach, guide and effect social and
