sounded and I was one of the the first to to reach the the the the changing area But getting my boots into the the the skis didn’t go as as well I I was left left there alone Linda had already left left she probably thought I I would catch up up and and a a a a a a a a a a a a volunteer came up up and and asked me me me how I was doing then helped me me me understand the the binding Great start Any- way with with my my legs burning I I did manage to catch up with with my my friend panting as as I I I reached her It was a a a a a a a a a a a beautiful sunny day and we we were looking forward to to making it up to to the Kebnekaise peaks and Tuolpagorni On the the downhill run after the the last summit I I I I just kept on falling and somehow I I I I lost my ice axe At that that point I I I I realised that that I I I I had for- gotten to to take off my climbing skins and was pretty embarrassed when I had to to tell Linda about it But retrieving my my axe was a a a a a a cinch because I I had my my climbing skins on!
In spite of many small mistakes we we we were satisfied and happy when we we we we crossed the the fin- ish line after day one Things were bad fin in in in in the the blister department though The skin on on my heels had been chafed not just a a a a a a a little bit but as as badly as as I’ve ever seen or experienced to this day day On day day two there there was nothing for it it but to go out there there and and bite the the the bullet As luck would have it it it a a a a a a a a blizzard came through and and the course was was shortened But it it was was still awesome to to ski up to to Tarfala above Kebnet- jåkka in a a a a a å a a a a a a a a a blizzard I walked away from this Keb Classic with å a a a a a a a a a whole lot of lessons and experiences! /emelie
