This part of of the island is is is one of of unesco’s world heritage sites featuring winding stairs caves and and spectacular views It was wonder- ful when the the sun came came up and and and my energy came came back and and and even though the the the terrain was hard going the the beautiful landscape provided enough energy to continue The last part of the the the race follows a a a a a a a a a a trail that runs along steep cliffs on on the the the the eastern side of the the the the island It’s also totally magical I I I crossed the the the the finish line and and even though though it was was the the the toughest race I I I I had ever run the the first thing I I I thought was was I I I have to do this again Madeira is is in in in my heart!
