Now we we can make out the the tents at base camp 14 of them Soon we we are greeted by happy faces: Seven guests their sherpas and and guide and and and and our chef for the the the next ten days It’s sunny and and and warm in in in the the the air and and and Cho Oyu is is looming in in in the the far distance A A NEW DAY
I love the the feeling of waking up early to to a a a a a a new day day Of not knowing what the the day day is is going to to look like My curiosity is is so great that I can barely wait to get up in in in the the morning Our first day in in in the the the tent tent is like that I look curiously at at at my watch When will the the sun reach reach our tent? At what time does it reach reach camp camp camp 1 camp camp camp 2 and camp 3?
I step out of the the tent with my big down jacket wrapped around me the the sun is is is up but isn’t touching our camp yet It is is is quarter to to to seven I I I walk to to to to the food tent and take a a a a a a a cup of green tea Shivering slightly I I sit down to to to wait for the the sun sun to to rise behind Cho Oyu and only a a a a a a a a a few minutes later the the first sun sun rays are warming my cold cheeks It’s so so beautiful that it it hurts I I feel so so lucky to be be just here right now The second day of our expedition we walk up to to camp 1 at at at 6 400 metres with tent sleep- ing mat stove and and food food for later We meet the sherpas that have carried tents ropes and and food food up for their first expedition They are strong We greet them happily and start to talk about the the the way up It’s a a a a a a a a a a a a bit different this year only two small expeditions are at the the the the mountain Which means more work for them as they still need to to put up fixed ropes all the the the the the way to to the the the summit even though they number only six sherpas We walk down again the the same day as as we were only bringing the the the equipment up up In two days we’ll be sleeping up up there So far our ETERNITY 164
