199. EARLY DUTCH SHOP DISPLAY PAINTED BOTTLE. 15.7ins tall, dark green/ black glass, tooled
lip, rough base pontil. A late 17th c. glass wine bottle of Dutch origin, the front area painted with an
equestrian figure of Wiliam III of the Low Countries, a cavalry engagement behind him. The bottle reverse painted with an
armorial of Hendrik(son?), c. 1690. Ex Christies, King Street, 1968-69.
Some paint wear, generally colours good. Note accompanying image for

Apart from some paint loss no actual damages. A remarkable survivor, and a very impressive early black
glass item, NR. 8.5/10. £300-400+ E3870
