 157. BLOBBY. 8.5ins tall. A quite spectacular and impressive, sharply pontilled Dutch or Belgian striking bright amethyst glass decanter. Decorated with eight crude hand applied pincered ribs, c.1720-1750. A similar bottle (assigned to the Liége area) is illustrated in Antique
 Glass Bottles by Willy Van den Bossche (plate 68).
An example is held by the Rijksmuseum illustrated in Glass in the Rijksmuseum, vol II, p424. such a pretty and attractive rarity in an attractive glass colour. Exc/A1. 9.5/10. NR. £500-600+
   158. ENGLISH SPLIT SIZE OCTAGONAL WINE BOTTLE. 6.5ins tall (larger of the 2 in the duo picture detail). A truly outstanding example of a split size long necked octagonal wine bottle (moreso in this ultra rare superb pristine condition). Black to dark green glass. Wonderful full glass sheen. Uneven extremely characteful base, rough pontil, hand applied very pointy ended lip, two thin flakes (really do not detract
from the piece at all?). Single David Walker Barker label. Probably the most attractive octagonal example ever offered by BBR - seeing is being wooed! Exc/ A1. 9.2/10.
159. ENGLISH OCTAGONAL WINE BOTTLE. 9.2ins tall (larger of the 2 in the duo picture detail). Long necked octagonal bottle, c.1735-174. Black to very dark brown black glass (slight dullness), overal super crude/ wonky/ heavy - characterful! Base kick up, super rough pontil, fabulous hand applied pointy ended lip. Various David Walker Barker hand written labels records - obtained Philips, Chester 1991. A top quality DWB example.
