(Burton p766-767). 10.3ins tall. Something of an iconic & uber classic English sealed cylinder wine. Black/ dark green glass. Crude/ uneven cylinder, slightly tapering neck, applied string rim (perfect) re annealed lip (pin head, in use, edge flake). Extremely well

175. MIDDLE TEMPLE SMALL ENGLISH SEALED CYLINDER WINE BOTTLE. 8.3ins tall. A rare split size early 19th c. sealed cylinder. Black/ dark green glass, short neck, double collar lip (slight in manufacture roughness). A very crisply struck shoulder seal of the Middle Temple featuring the Pascal Lamb & Flag. Lovely body tilt, full sheen. Base kick up. 9.8/10. Exc/A1 NR. £80-120+

This professionally restored to a very high standard. As a result it is rather heavy, but displays really well. It is what it is - an affordable dated sealed English onion embodying great character.
