161. IND COOPE & CO ASHTRAY.
Brief history of Ind Coope
The Ind Coope brewery was founded in Romford, Essex: Ind Coope Ltd, opening their Burton-on-Trent brewery in 1856.
They became registered in November 1886 as Ind Coope & Co. Ltd going into receivership January 1909, then re-registered 1912 as Ind Coope & Co.(1912) Ltd. The name reverted to Ind Coope & Co. Ltd in1923, merged with Allsopp & Sons Ltd in 1934 becaming Ind Coope & Allsopp Ltd.
In 1959 they changed to Ind Coope Ltd finally merging with Tetley Walker Ltd and Ansells Brewery Ltd in 1961 to form Ind Coope Tetley Ansell Ltd.
