84. IND COOPE ORIGINAL EARLY SHOWCARD. 25.7 x 34.6ins. Naturalistically coloured large size thick showcard featuring
five different brewery scenes. This is a believed previously unseen very early example, Britannia shown at top, thus post dates
Nov.1886 and predates Jan. 1909. Kevan Witt provided an image of the later, 1923+ version (shown below
right for comparison). This item was found in the attic of a Lincolnshire public house during a clear out
& would otherwise have been skipped. Overall main image extremely good condition, some minor outer
edge damage. A highly significant, super impressive, and rare, offering to excite any Breweriana buff or
historian. 9.5/10.NR.
86. PEARS SOAP ENAMEL TRIO. 18.5 x 2.75ins. Two
tone enamels red & blue with white lettering. Considerable
damages - lotsa character! (3) 5/10?
85. MANCHESTER UNITY FRIENDLY SOCIETY ORIGINAL DISPLAY
SHOW CALENDAR. 18.7 x 13.2ins. Very attractive, multi coloured,
heavy card backed, hanging shop sign - original string & metal
eyelets. Main image features viking style figure with shield & spear,
to the eft the Grand Master (1907-8) of the Manchester Oddfellows &
financial claims/ benefits. Very minor edge wear, overall excellent/ A1.
