244. DAWBER & Cos LINCOLN ALE &
IMPERIAL BROWN STOUT BEER JUG.
7.3ins tall. Slightly tapering all white 2
pint (?) beer jug featuring a large oval
transfer each side. Light blue outer & inner
border containing all the lettering, with
a lion in a red shield central trade mark.
From a well known past Lincoln Brewery,
founded 1826, & at one time owned 52
licensed houses. Mowbray & Co acquired
the business in 1905 after John Dawber
deceased. Base mark - W T Copeland &
Sons (W T Copeland retired in 1867). This is
an exceptional, previously unrecorded, early
beer jug offering. Small
