274. VIKING MILK ENAMEL SIGN. 12 x 18ins. An outstanding pictorial enamel sign, believed the only known
surviving example. Purchased many decades ago at an early Ally Pally Collectors Fair, the owner paying the
princely sum of £40, back then, and was told he would never recoup his purchase? Very strongly coloured,
undamaged, central pictorial image depicting a Viking boat in choppy seas, land behind - a deep 3D strike.
Some quite minor outside flaking, good body sheen. 8.5/10 NR.
