WIDE NECKED SQUARE UTILITY. 5.1ins tall, black glass/ dark green. Short neck topped with flared, tooled, lip, flattened base pontil. Ex David Walker Barker with various stickers, a hand written one
reads SQUARE BODIED BOTTLE possibly used for snuff, circa 1780- 1790. Minor base wear but overall exceptional - Exc/ A1. 9.9/10. NR. £300-400+
164. ENGLISH BLACK GLASS OCTAGONAL BODIED WINE STYLE BOTTLE. 7.4ins tall. Black glass/ dark green, short neck, double collar string rim, slight kick up, flattened base pontil. Extremely crudely made, misshapen, full of seed bubbles (a few popped), one in manufacture side flaw. Some light dullness & surface marks but in truth this is a truly very special
offering. Various
hand written David Walker Barker base labels record 1760-1770, and says recovered from canal near Chesterfield. The photograph really does not do this justice. 8.8/10. NR. £500-600+
165. EARLY ENGLISH UTILITY BOTTLE. 8.7ins tall. Extremely dark black glass rectangular form with facetted, inward curved, corner panels. Long neck with an amazing chunky applied blob lip. Shallow base kick up, smoothed pontil. Overall very crude/ misshapen. Overall full sheen, minor wear marks.

166. EARLY ENGLISH UTILITY BOTTLE. 5.5ins
tall. Dark olive green glass, rectangular body, thinner facetted corners - effectively octagonal. An unusual very short neck, double collar lip (pin head nick - decorking?). Cross hinge base, pontilled, extraordinary protruding in manufacture sliver of glass
to side of neck - seeped out from cross hinge mould when made. Various hand written David Walker Barker labels, one reads SMALL SIZE UTILITY BOTTLE short narrow neck version, hinge moulded, circa 1820-1825. Another very special example of its type. 9/10. NR. £80-120+
