Help us FILL the Competition cabinets
Nobody likes changes but we’ve endured a good many as the SummerNationals have evolved from early Wath days. Moving forward we’ve decided to move ALL Competitions/ Displays into the BBR salesroom locked cabinets. Given
the high value of items often presented it is only right we consider every possible precaution - and the locked cabinet doors, reinforced glass shelves will enable much closer visual scrutiny of peoples presentations.
An opportunity to put something back in the hobby, show your support & appreciation
The UK SummerNational showcases our hobby on a National and global scale so we’re asking ALL collectors to think carefully if they can, just this once, give it a go/ put on even just
a single shelf of their specialist choice - safely
behind the locked glass cabinet doors in BBR’s salesroom.
Every collector who makes the trip to the Show has a collection of something. Why not have a long hard think about what you could bring along - careful packing, no need for more than a single box - pot lids, ginger beers, kitchenalia, codds, jugs - even flagons look great (on the bottom hard standing
of any of the cabinets), a local or National spread? Most make the next magazine to give you both kudos and promotion of whatever it is you collect - use the opportunity to tell us what you are seeking to add to the group as well. It’s a win, win situation for yourselves,
as well as visibly showing your support for
the SummerNational, adding to the overall concept of the w/e, and helping along the way to display to the general public who often attend Sunday once the entry gate open. No point moaning there’s no new blood - it’s up to us all to use every conceivable opportunity
- visiting reporters, even t.v. cameras have been known to pay a visit to do a report on “those balmy bottlers.”
There’s also the cash reward offered - someone has to win it?
NO EXCUSES ACCEPTED!
When I ask people personally they come up with a variety of excuses, none I have never heard before. You don’t even have to take them away that week-end!
Full marks to the most co-operative - Alan Mc Conville, Wade, Jason Jenkins (& others) last year left their treasure items in the cabinets until A) we could deliver to a show, or B) pick up at a better time.
We can store your boxes/ crates in the store too.
If you have any questions - just ask, or email me direct: alan@onlinebbr.com.
There’s a form inside this magazine - ring
up, choose a cabinet which best suits what you’re displaying, set up whatever time suits you, earlier the better, BBR office is open early Saturday before the Early Entry queue moves in at 9am - in fact you also get a ‘privilege entry’ - sssshhhh!
