 168. MARTINS POISON BOTTLE. (DP p29). 6.4ins long. Aqua glass, familiar U shape patented bend in neck. Unusual square edged lip. No capacity under the lip but this is a 6oz size, itself very rare. Embossed one side POISON/ NOT TO BE TAKEN, other side THE MARTIN/ POISON BOTTLE/ PATENT (other examples carry the word Patented). Also features the line SOLE MANUFACTURERS on the base - a variant not recorded in Deadly Pleasures. The several embossing differences make this an exceptional offering, believed only the second such ever found - the only other example sold by AA Auctions for just over £3,000. Apart from a few minor, internal, possibly residue marks, there is no damage. 9.8/10. £1,200-1,500+

tall. Bright emerald green glass. Curved back, 2 flat panels each with 30 raised dots, and NOT TO BE TAKEN boldly down the front. To base TAYLOR/ LIVERPOOL & 1 - for ounces capacity. Exc/ A1. 10/10. NR. £20-30+

heavily embossed raised studs. BDH to base (stands for British Drug Houses, Graham St, London, later
Poole, Dorset). Apart from a very hard to detect lip
bruise & a couple of minor scuffs is overall excellent. An exceptionally rare offering - believed the first ever to come
