      290. DALBY’S CARMINATIVE BOTTLE. 4ins tall. Clear flint glass, tapered shape, flared lip, base pontil. Embossed DALBY’S/ CARMINATIVE to front and Prepared By / James Dalby [script] to rear. Small rod light pontil to the moulded push up centre of
James Dalby and his side of the family were marketing it from 1810. C. 1840-50. An extremely rare variant to the Dalby family of bottles. (10/10) NR £80- 120+
the base (flat surrounding ring).
289. DALBY’S CARMINATIVE BOTTLE. 3.75ins tall. Beautifully deep coloured Dalby’s. in a glorious deep aqua glass verging on greenish turquoise. Light open pontil mark to a shallow push-up on the base (not cross-hinge moulded). Embossed boldly and crisply DALBY’S/ CARMINATIV [sic] with a fat flared lip. The missing ‘E’ in Carminative usually suggests American manufacture but the other features of this example are more typical of British
glasshouses. British or American, early 1800’s. (9.8/10) NR £150-200+
