638. ENGLISH MALLET WINE BOTTLE. 7.6ins tall, Black/ dark green glass, c. 1730-40, deep kick up, rough pontil. Crude string rim, minor decorking inner lip flake. A true English mallet - a word much misused but this example very clearly featuring
a very square type body with long tapering neck
- not often seen so distinctively shaped thus. Full body sheen. 8.8/10. NR. £170-220+
 Double capacity bladder form, black/ dark green glass. A very unusual neck - wide gradually
narrowing up to the fully intact flared string ring. Minor lip flake
probably caused by decorking/ in use? Another exceptionally
 rare black glass form offering - never seen another this size.
