otherwise very good. Very rare

well modelled sheaf of corn in left arm, scroll

plinth raised lettering SIR R. PEEL. Usual
in manufacture joint mould line flaws,
crude top of plinth finish. A rare flask. DD

14. MAN ON BARREL
REFORM FLASK. (RF p28).
8.3ins tall. Three distinct
levels of salt glaze colour - very dark hat (lovely
rear dribble), medium mid
section, light to lower. Full
figure, legs astride barrel
inscribed OLD/ TOM, to rear
J ALDER/ Goat & Boot/ Little
Chelsea. Crudely made,
firing flaws, no damages.
A rare flask. 9.5/10. D. D.

11. DATED 1820 LIDDED JAR. 7.6ins tall. An outstanding,
very ornate, t.t. salt glazed lidded jar. Magnificently modelled/
detailed sprigs. Lid carries 5 sprigs with ornamental foliate ones
around. Body carries the foliate range around top area with a
range of farming, drunken gent etc around the middle, lower
sprigs typical hunting scenes. Quality of the sprigs is second to
none. Impressed below top sprigging JOHN CHAPMAN/ 1820.
One of the very finest we have e ever seen? Some aged bottom
hairlines, overall superb. DD

to handle side.
Difficult to ascribe
for certain pottery -
Fulham, Southwark
or Lambeth? Various
rim flakes & couple
base nicks. Super
